Dream of a business is in full flower
A family business that is creating gardens for homes and businesses across the North has boosted turnover to nearly £1m in just two years and is planning further expansion. AJM Dream Gardens, based in Consett, was set up by Martin Boyle who was already operating a natural stone business. Looking to exploit the maximum potential for his company and seeing a market in landscaping he turned to Business Link North East for help.
David French of Business Link, who has worked closely with the company, said: “AJM is a forward-looking company that spots gaps in the market and takes advantage of available support to capitalise on these opportunities. Our own Workforce Development Team and Bridgehouse Business Consultants Ltd have contributed to helping AJM up-grade its financial systems, develop its marketing and website and to train the relevant team members on all these different aspects.”
AJM is carrying out landscaping projects for schools, homes for the elderly, urban renewal schemes, luxury apartments, offices and stables. Designs include stone features, pools, spas, decorative fencing and, of course, plants, shrubs and trees.
Martin Boyle said: “People are definitely prepared to spend more on their gardens nowadays, and we arrange no-interest finance payment schemes for them if they want to spread the cost. We are currently creating gardens at 60 homes for the elderly and I find it particularly rewarding as they bring so much pleasure to residents who have had to give up their own gardens.
AJM Dream Gardens is on 01207 588822 and at www.ajmdreamgardens.co.uk and for further information on Business Link please visit www.businesslinknortheast.co.uk or call 0845 600 9 006.
