North East women back in business

Women across the North East are back in business thanks to the re-launch of Women in Management (WIM). Part of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), WIM is a national organisation which addresses the issues facing women in management roles. The North East division has attracted members from a broad spectrum of professions and industries, including marketing, training and coaching and recruitment.

Wendy Taylor, chair of the North East division, said: “Through WIM we are giving business women across the region the opportunity to network with other like minded women and have access to information, guidance and advice which can help shape their career. “The group doesn’t just represent women within management roles. We welcome women from a wide range of sectors and professions, from individuals taking their first steps into management, through to senior executives and those returning to work after a career break.

“There are many entrepreneurial, talented and skillful females within the North East. Through WIM we want to retain these people within the region, helping to sustain and maintain the area’s business success.”

To re-launch the North East division the group will be holding an event in early autumn which will feature a regional female business leader as guest speaker. Dates and venues will be confirmed soon.
