Engineering firm powers ahead

A Newcastle based power engineering firm is looking to continue its growth in the next four years. Royston Power Generation’s development is supported by a significant six-figure investment from NEL Capital.

Royston supply, install, maintain, service and repair diesel generators and engines for a wide range of UK and internationally-based blue chip clients in the marine, utility and defence sectors. The company has doubled its turnover to £8m in the last four years. The company employs 80 people at its Walker Riverside headquarters and Grantham site and has engineers throughout the UK.

Lawrence Brown, Managing Director, said: “We work with clients who have high expectations of quality and service and our success has been based on providing them with levels of service that meet these requirements and enable them to carry on their operations with the minimum of disruption.

“Meeting these service levels is dependent on the quality of the people that deliver them, and we have invested in recruiting people with both the right skills and the clear understanding of what is required of them - these people make the difference that sets us apart and will continue to do so as we expand in the future.”

Duncan Lowery, NEL Capital fund manager adds: “Royston’s commercial experience, management expertise and sound plans for growth make them an excellent investment opportunity for us, and we are confident that the growth track record they have shown will be maintained in the coming years.”
