Sky News launches 'Tyneside Test'
Last Friday Sky News announced that it would be testing the UK’s economic waters by focusing on one particular location over the next few months. The broadcaster said that it wanted to find out if the North East’s “strong regional economy” would withstand the recent economic difficulties.
The ongoing investigation will look at aspects such as employment levels, cost of living, and housing prices to determine the robustness of the North East’s economy. Although the broadcaster says it will focus mainly on Newcastle and the surrounding area, it is encouraging anyone in the region to get in touch and offer their views.
