One NorthEast backs Dragon's boot camp
Regional development agency One NorthEast has thrown its weight behind a project giving 200 budding entrepreneurs a springboard to success. The agency has joined forces with former Dragons’ Den panellist, Doug Richard, for a new initiative that will give help and advice to people wanting to turn ideas into business success stories.
The Doug Richard Project will take people of all ages who have a business concept and put their plans through a rigorous workout - a Business Boot Camp - to test that they have the necessary assets to turn it in to a profitable business.
One NorthEast’s involvement has opened up subsidised placements to enable a more diverse range of people to attend the course, which takes place at Newcastle University on 27 February. The support will enable people to attend the one-day workshop from as little as £25 plus VAT.
Doug Richard said: “I am firmly committed to firing up the people who will attend the sessions and to give real, practical advice and support to enable these budding entrepreneurs to turn their vision into a reality. The upshot will have a sizeable impact on new business start-ups in the North East. “It is fantastic that One NorthEast has got behind this project as we aim to give a level of support that will see a sizeable number of those attending the course go on to launch successful businesses or grow their existing ventures.”
A limited number of places are available at the event at the University of Newcastle. One NorthEast’s sponsorship means that places are priced at £25 for students, £150 for academics and £200 for entrepreneurs. All prices are exclusive of VAT.
