Penelope's Pitstops get off to a flying start
Women drivers in Middlesbrough will have an new destination to turn to for their motoring needs later this month. Penelope’s Pitstops is the brainchild of Yvette Sheekey, who wanted to provide an environment where women could feel comfortable taking their car to be serviced.
Yvette previously managed female-only gyms, and found the same issues that lead to women wishing to join single sex gyms were transferable into the world of car maintenance.
Penelope’s Pitstops promises a new environment for women wanting to take their car in for a service. Firstly, customers will be met by a customer service representative in a reception area, rather than going straight into the garage and dealing first hand with the mechanic due to work on the car.
The business wishes to create a very customer focused service. All costs will be explained fully, reminders for MOT will be issued and vehicles will be given a mini-valet before being returned.
Yvette said: “It’s all part of making women feel a part of the process. As well as a great service, we also want our customers to feel as little inconvenience as possible. We will even collect, service and then return your car while you’re at work so that any disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.”
