Sporting heroes promote NewcastleGateshead
Local sporting heroes will attend an international conference this week to promote Newcastle and Gateshead as business destinations. Peter Beardsley and Jonathan Edwards will join NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau team and its members as they showcase the destination at a trade exhibition for the conference industry - International Confex at London’s Earls Court.
Peter and Jonathan will also be on hand to help launch the new NewcastleGateshead Delegate Welcome Pack. The pack contains information about the city and town as well as special offers and discounts to make visitors’ stay more pleasurable.
Jessica Roberts, Head of Business Tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “NewcastleGateshead has a lot to offer conference delegates and organisers. We’re lucky to have such a strong offering of quality venues, entertainments and events services staff that have helped us to become one of the UK’s leading business destinations. We are delighted that Peter and Jonathan will be helping us to spread the message.”
The Convention Bureau and its members, which includes some of the largest and smallest venues both in the city centre and rural locations across the region, will also celebrate the Angel of the North’s 10th birthday at the event by giving visitors an opportunity to experience all the region has to offer by giving away NewcastleGateshead mini-breaks and Angel of the North miniatures.
