Mortgage firm sees credit crunch as time to launch
A North East woman is launching her own mortgage advice business in the heat of the credit crunch crisis. A former associate director of SFM Mortgage Services Ltd, Laura Watson has set up her new company, Mortgage Traders, to specialise in all kinds of mortgage advice, but especially for the property investor market.
Gateshead based Mortgage Traders has 20 staff, who will offer both residential mortgage advice and commercial mortgage solutions for Buy to Let investors and commercial property buyers. The paper-free company has invested heavily in its case management system to ensure their customers mortgage offers are processed quickly.
Laura said: “There has never been a better time to launch Mortgage Traders; with so much concern in the financial sector, getting the correct mortgage advice and a quickly processed deal is vital. Taking a leap from SFM Mortgage Services, where I helped generated a turnover of £1.5m in just 12 months, has given me a fantastic opportunity to develop Mortgage Traders into a successful and profitable company; the management team have been hugely supportive in my new role as managing director.
The company will also offer a mortgage packaging service providing administrative support in processing mortgage offers, acting on behalf of the lender and the broker. Mortgage packaging is a growth market, commonly used by mortgage brokers and independent IFAs for a swift offer to completion.
