Sponsors announced for energy recruitment fair
NOF Energy, the business development organisation for the oil, gas and energy-related sectors, has announced the main sponsors of its Jobs4Energy Recruitment Fair in June. North East businesses AMEC, CTC Marine Projects and Jobs@Pertemps have all confirmed their support of the event, which takes place at St James’ Park, Newcastle on 12 June.
The sponsors will also be among the companies exhibiting at the fair, which is hoping to generate interest in careers in the energy sector.
The recruitment fair aims to provide a showcase for employers wanting to attract new entrants to the industry, as well as experienced energy professionals looking for a new challenge and skilled workers who want to move into the sector from other industries.
Also invited to attend will be schools, colleges and universities to help them find out more about employment opportunities on behalf of their students. The event will also help forge new links between education and employers to arrange work placements, apprenticeships and graduate programmes.
George Rafferty, NOF Energy Chief Executive, said: “The calibre of the sponsors we have attracted for the Jobs4Energy Recruitment Fair is a positive indication of industry’s desire to meet skills shortages. “This is a great opportunity for businesses in the North East energy sector to showcase the high calibre employment opportunities they have within their workforces and help open doors for local people who can forge themselves rewarding and prosperous careers in the sector.”
