Smiths consulting leads North East technology companies
The Sunday Times has named Smiths Consulting as the region’s fastest growing technology company. The management consultancy, based in the Fabriam Centre in Silverlink, ranked number 33 in the overall UK league table.
The privately owned company was set up in 2004 by four former SAP consultants, including Calum Bennett and Stephen Lee, who are both from the North East. Smiths works with clients including brewers Marston’s and telecoms company T-Mobile.
The consultancy say that their main focus is providing governance and senior technical consultants to clients who have an established internal competency centre or internal consulting team to support their European or global business operations.
Calum said: “We have established a track record with clients in the UK, Europe and Asia and are already experiencing further growth for the company.”
Since its set up in 2004, Smiths Consulting has seen growth of over 80% each year. The company, which currently employs 37 staff, had a turnover last year of £5.2 million.
