Awards give businesses and managers chance to raise their game
North East businesses are being encouraged to show off their achievements by entering the North of England Excellence Awards.
Business leaders are also being offered the opportunity become an awards assessor.
The awards are open to private, public and voluntary organisations of all sizes throughout the North and judge them against established principles of business excellence. Entrants undergo in-depth assessment on all aspects of their operation and receive feedback from a team of independent assessors.
Assessors need to be familiar with the principles of business improvement and possess a balanced approach and a reputation for integrity. They are often managers from organisations committed to business improvement, or quality or change management specialists.
David Teale, chief executive of North of England Excellence, said: “The awards represent a valuable opportunity for both organisations and individuals to raise their game.
“For businesses the awards not only recognise success, but they are also a business improvement process in their own right, offering applicants constructive feedback and identifying ways for them to gain that all important competitive edge.
“For assessors they are a remarkable form of personal development, giving them the chance to work with others from different backgrounds and sectors, and observe best practice in other organisations.”
Organisations which wish to enter the awards must register their interest by 13 February. Applications from would-be assessors must be received by 27 February. For further details visit www.northofenglandexcellence.co.uk.
