A supported break
Adventure holidays are to become more accessible to people with learning disabilities thanks to a special grant which will reduce the cost of the their trip.
Calvert Trust Kielder has secured a bursary from Baily Thomas to financially support visitors with learning disabilities, meaning even more people can benefit from the activity holidays available at Kielder Water & Forest Park in Northumberland.
Peter Cockerill, CEO of Calvert Trust Kielder, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity which will open up our excellent facilities to those who previously may not have had access. A trip to the Calvert Trust Kielder is very beneficial and often life changing - the financial support from the bursary can make a world of difference.”
The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund is a charity which was established primarily to aid research into learning disability, and to aid the care and relief of those affected by learning disability by making grants to voluntary organisations working in the area field.
