'Mumpreneurs' get guidance in Newcastle
A networking group for ‘mumpreneurs’ is staging an event at the end of month focusing on first impressions and image.
Newcastle Business Mums is an informal networking group who meet up every two months with the aim of ‘putting the fun back into networking’.
In the UK, more than a third of female entrepreneurs are aged 30 or under, and74% of women who started a business did so before their child was two.
Started in November 2008 the Business Mums enjoy networking in a relaxed environment with other mums.
They also share ideas and advice, and offer workshops to help those attending run and improve their business.
The next event is themed ‘Dress For Success…Quickly!’ and will be held on Thursday 30th April 2009, 7pm-10.30pm, South North Cricket Club, Gosforth, Newcastle.
Tracey Banks, of Enhance Image Consultancy, will be leading the talk.
Tracey said: “Life with kids, for all their positives, can certainly take its toll and the first thing that can often be neglected is self presentation, with exhausted mums grabbing the first thing that comes out of the wardrobe, whether it matches, fits, looks good or not.
“Research has proven that when walking into a room, you have just30 seconds to make that essential first impression, before you even speak people will have formed an opinion of you based purely on the way you look.”
