Train To Gain learners soar
A government-backed business training scheme is proving a success at a North Tyneside college.
TyneMet College has seen learner numbers on the Train to Gain programme increase by over 200% in the last year.
Train to Gain is a government training service which aims to help companies improve the skills of their employees.
TyneMet now has an 81% success rate for Train to Gain courses, compared with the national average of 65%, and learner numbers have grown by 211%. There are now around 1500 Train to Gain learners undertaking courses at TyneMet.
Audrey Kingham, Strategic Director of Studies at TyneMet, said: “We provide top quality courses to a wide range of local businesses who want to develop the skills of their staff to help the business grow. Now, more than ever, the right training opportunities are essential.
“The success of Train to Gain at TyneMet can be wholly attributed to our skill in responding directly to specific training needs and offering tailored packages to suit an employer’s individual requirements. We’re seeing increasing numbers of learners choosing TyneMet for Train to Gain courses and we intend to build on our outstanding success rate as we add new courses and continue to be a leader in training provision in the North East.”
