Arts Council urges North East to ?Get in the Frame'
Budding artists eager to put themselves in the frame are being invited to take part in a film by Arts Council England, North East.
The film will launch the Arts Council’s ‘Get in the Frame’ campaign which aims to highlight the North East’s arts scene and inspire people to take part in arts activity.
Mark Robinson, Executive Director at Arts Council England, North East said: “We know the North East is full of fantastically creative people and we want to see your creativity in our film. We work to get great art to everyone and this film will demonstrate all kinds of amazing artistic talents from across the region.”
For the final scene of the film, members of the public will get the chance to show off their artistic talents. Participants will be filmed performing inside a giant frame, and anyone with a talent is welcome to try out.
People hoping to get involved can go to Grey’s Monument in Newcastle City Centre, on Saturday 30 May between 10am and 12pm, when the filming will take place.
The campaign film will also feature two art seekers carrying the giant frame around the region and using it to capture various art projects.
Members of the public and local primary school pupils are being given the chance to design the frame and the winning work will be added digitally to the finished film.
The campaign will be featured on internet sites including YouTube and will be launched mid July.
