Games conference comes to Gateshead
A computer games conference is being held at The Sage Gateshead next month.
The GameHorizon Conference will take place on 23-24 June and will provide an opportunity for local software companies to discover business opportunities.
It will also examine the high-level issues facing the industry.
Run by Codeworks GameHorizon, the event will feature more than 20 top speakers presenting on topics such as selling games over the internet, the ‘freeconomy’ and how games can be used to drive other interactive content.
Tickets booked in advance are currently available at £275 - saving £50.
Speakers at the event include Dave Jones, creative director of Realtime Worlds, Ian Livingstone, creative director of Eidos, Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, and Marc Goodchild, head of interactive & on-demand for the BBC.
The games industry in the UK alone is worth $2bn and is growing year-on-year.
