Eldon Square celebrates a prestigious win
Newcastle city centre’s Eldon Square complex is celebrating after scooping a national award.
The SCEPTRE Awards are designed to reward good work in the retail sector, notably management teams, retailers and suppliers.
In the 2009 awards, held at the Dorchester Hotel in London last month, Eldon Square collected the award for Customer Service Team of the Year.
The award was given in recognition of a series of initiatives run by the two onsite Customer Service Desks. These included: ‘Random Acts of Kindness’, a weekly reward system for loyal shoppers; effective gift voucher sales which culminated in sales of £2.3m in 2008; ongoing retailer liaison and a stellar First Aid service.
Tim Lamb, General Manager of Eldon Square, said: “The competition, as ever, was strong but we knew we had excelled in this category. The team’s diligence and commitment to provide an enjoyable shopping experience has really fostered fantastic relationships and a reputation that has lead to increased footfall for the centre and we look forward to building on this success over the coming year.”
