Odours tackled on Metro
A Tyneside company is working to help eliminate nasty smells on the Tyne and Wear Metro service.
Probe Industries’ AiroPure product is being used by Nexus to freshen up the atmosphere throughout the Metro system.
Nexus has trialled AiroPure in selected areas particularly prone to becoming impregnated by substances which create difficult to remove, bad smells.
The liquid product is dispensed from hand held and backpack sprayers in lifts and stairways where it permanently neutralises unpleasant odours on all contaminated surfaces.
Malcolm Irving, a Technical Manager on Metro, said: “It is very important to us that Metro’s passengers enjoy their daily commute. We are pleased to be working with Probe Industries to deal with unpleasant odours quickly when they do occur. The initial trials have proved extremely successful and AiroPure has really impressed us.”
AiroPure is the result of a research and development programme at Probe Industries, based in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. It is a non-hazardous, environmentally-friendly and biodegradable product and is entirely harmless to the public and operatives alike.
Commercial Director for Probe Industries, Vicky Browning, said: “The odour neutralising benefits of AiroPure are immediate. Many other agents will mask malodours with other scents such as mint or lemon but it’s usually just a temporary measure that can quickly lose its effectiveness. AiroPure not only counteracts odour, but it does so permanently.”
Further details about AiroPure can be found at Probe Industries’ website at www.probeindustries.co.uk.
