Free employer workshop on recession recruitment help
Employers are being encouraged to sign up for free workshop which will highlight the government help available to them in the recession.
The breakfast event, taking place on Thursday 10 September at St James’ Park, will feature a keynote speech from Sir John Hall and delegates will also be able to speak to representatives from a number of support organisations about the help currently available for businesses.
It is being organised by Jobcentre Plus with Newcastle Futures and Jobcentre staff will be on hand to talk about recruitment support on offer.
Sarah Wilkinson, Employer Engagement Manager for Jobcentre Plus said: “This is an excellent opportunity for employers to find out about the free help and support available and to see how others have already benefited.
“Our work trial scheme, for example, is proving increasingly popular as it provides a low-risk alternative to the traditional recruitment process – the jobseeker can try out in the role for up to six weeks whilst continuing to receive their benefits, with no obligation on either side.
“We hope the breakfast seminar will provide a lot of employers with ideas and extra incentives to recruit local jobseekers.”
Employers are also invited to attend and exhibit at the jobsfair taking place after the event. Any employers interested in either session are invited to register their interest with Sarah Wilkinson on 0191 215 2185.
