Regional law department takes top spot
A North East university’s law department has been ranked the best in the UK after the release of the National Student Survey results.
The University of Sunderland’s law department received a unanimous thumbs up from its students after it achieved a 100% overall satisfaction rating in the survey.
Student satisfaction for English studies at 98% ranked the course second best in the country, while more than 90% of students in sports science and 95% in psychology said they were satisfied with their courses. All three came out top in the region.
The university’s overall satisfaction rate – made up of all those which took part in the survey – is 82%.
University of Sunderland Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Fidler, said: “These excellent figures show the effort that has been put in to ensure our students receive one of the best higher education experiences in the UK.
“A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to ensure our students receive the right teaching, facilities and support so they are ready for the challenges ahead. These results show that this work is paying off.”
