Awards to celebrate apprentices
An awards ceremony to recognise the ‘significant achievements’ of more than 140 trainees has taken place.
Skill Training Limited’s (STL) awards gave praise to “the best of a very, very good bunch” in construction skills, motor maintenance and hair & beauty.
Ann Barkas, chief executive of STL, said: “It has been an outstanding occasion, a real celebration of success in so many ways.
“Our learners have excelled this year and those who have won awards should be very proud; they are the best of a very, very good bunch.”
The fully accredited courses have been commended by educators, with their Entry to Employment (E2E) course acknowledged as one of the most successful in the country.
STL puts its high standard of successful trainees down to work placements, with a “significant number” of regional employers contracted to provide continuous on-the-job training.
Ann Barkas said: “Our employer partners are invaluable. Together we deliver uniquely flexible training, which we know from the results we achieve really works.
“I am so grateful to them for their support and dedication; we continually seek to ensure our partnerships are win-win.”
STL is said to be unique because learners can enroll all year round, and is open to any age from 16 to 60+.
Ms Barkas added: “Clearly these are tough times for employees and employers alike and we at Skill Training continue to work hard to deliver high quality, relevant training and so help create highly employable people with the right skills and attitude for the times.”
