Sage declares 10:10 commitment
The Sage Gateshead has declared its support for a national climate change campaign.
The Sage is one of the founding participants of the 10:10 project, in partnership with others such as the NHS, the Science Museum, and Edinburgh University.
Big names such as Delia Smith, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, climate change expert Lord Stern to Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox, have all got behind the campaign.
The 10:10 campaign aims to cut carbon emissions by 10% by 2010.
To mark its commitment to reducing emissions, a giant 10:10 logo has been unveiled on the outside of the Sage Gateshead to coincide with the national launch of the project at the Tate Modern.
The Sage Gateshead has already taken positive action when it comes to energy saving initiatives, and has convened a Green Team, with members from a range of departments across the organisation, with the objective of creating and implementing company environmental statement and policy.
The Sage Gateshead said as well as signing up for 10:10, future projects include improving staff awareness of environmental issues, assessing contracts and suppliers, and considering cycle to work and car-sharing schemes.
