Company plans recession-busting trade show
A Tees Valley industrial services company has decided to face the recession head on and organise one of the region’s biggest ever trade shows to help its own business and others in the area.
RS Industrial Services, started by Mike Riley and Neil Sanderson in 2002 as RS Cranes, is now based on a four acre site at Billingham where the company plans to hold an Open Day on Thursday September 10 for hundreds of exhibitors and visitors.
“We decided that, in the current economic climate, it is far better to be pro-active and try and help ourselves and other businesses,” explained Mike Riley. “We held a similar event about two years ago and more than 200 businesses came along from major companies such as Corus and Huntsman right down to one man bands.
“Many of them told us how much they appreciated seeing so many major suppliers from all over the UK under one roof and that the day had definitely helped them trim their budgets.”
More than 40 major UK manufacturers will be exhibiting their latest products including power tools, workwear, engineering tools, lifting equipment, hand tools, building and personal protection equipment.
Mike Riley said: “We hope that this second show will not only help local companies save money but also give them a chance to get together, do a bit of networking and generally boost confidence and enthusiasm at a difficult time.”
