A luxury ice-cream manufacturer was flying the flag for the region at the Great Taste Awards this week when they won the award for Best Speciality Product from the North East.
beckleberry’s, of Blaydon in Tyne and Wear, ice cream and sorbet manufacturers, took away the award for their Sloe Gin Sorbet at the final of the awards.
Peter Craig, director of beckleberry’s, said: “This is the third year we have been recognised by the Great Taste Awards which is testament to the hard work of the beckleberry’s team. We strive for consistency and this accolade proves that we are continuing to deliver what our customers want.”
Michael McCallum, business development manager at the North East England Food and Drink Group, sponsors of the award, said: “beckleberry’s is truly deserving of the Great Taste Award as they continue to deliver a fantastic range of products that the region’s food and drink industry should be proud of.”
