FSB Accord sign up gathers pace
Middlesbrough Council has become the latest council to sign up to the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) ‘Small Business Engagement Accord.’
To build on this signing the FSB and Middlesbrough Council are working together to develop a strategy for the local area to help improve the role that small businesses have in the decision-making process.
Pauline Osborne, FSB Teesside Branch Chairman said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Middlesbrough has demonstrated its commitment to small businesses by signing the FSB Accord. This will help develop the successful relationship that the FSB and Middlesbrough Council have developed over recent years.”
“We are looking forward to building on this signing by working with Middlesbrough Council to help develop and drive the engagement strategy. We are all striving to ensure Middlesbrough becomes a hotbed for start-ups and small businesses and this joint work is only the first step to achieve this.”
Ray Mallon, Middlesbrough Mayor said: “Business is one of the key pillars that underpin Middlesbrough’s ongoing success and regeneration as a town. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and have a vital role to play in its prosperity, so it’s only right that we should give them all the support we can.
“I’m delighted to be signing up to the Small Business Engagement Accord as anything we can do to improve communication will reap dividends for Middlesbrough’s long-term future.”
