New technology to refine google searches
A North East firm which can make sure businesses appear at the top of Google searches is all set for expansion in the region.
Internet Search Marketing Ltd (iSM) has been offered an injection of £160,000, creating 33 jobs at its Northumberland base.
iSM, who’s staff will increase from 15 to 20 this November, specialises in organic search engine optimisation (SEO), which allows websites to naturally appear on page one of Google and other search engine sites.
North East born Managing Director, Gary Hernon, said: “After a 23 year career in Commercial Banking the rapid development at iSM has been invigorating. While conditions for us and clients remain difficult it is clear there are opportunities available in the SEO marketplace.
“This grant will help us make sure Berwick and the North East remain at the forefront of this important route to market for all businesses.”
The firm was established in Berwick in 2007 and is looking to expand its sales team significantly to push the company’s services into new markets creating new jobs when it relocates to its new home at the Ramparts Business Park.
One North East Business and Industry Director, added: “The success of iSM is proof that to be a success in the world of high-tech industry you do not have to be based in an urban environment.
“I’m pleased our grant is helping iSM more than double its workforce. With the internet constantly developing and becoming increasingly competitive between companies establishing a web presence is essential.”
