Success story for North East law firm
More than 30 jobs have been created throughout the North East after a bookstore chain’s expansion with the help of regional solicitors Mincoffs.
Mincoffs Solicitors LLP have been working with The Works since 2008, and have now helped them expand nationally by advising on new leases, assignments and renewals.
In 2009 The Works opened an additional 39 stores throughout the UK and another five within the North East, taking their total number of stores to over 250 with plans to expand and renew current leases throughout the region.
The Works’ retail director Kerry Hughes said: “Phil Dean and his team at Mincoffs have been invaluable advising The Works on all aspects of the leases and in legal dealings on the properties, especially at a time when so many other bookshops both large and small are struggling to survive.
“We are pleased that we are able to create local jobs and that we are continuing to grow. We are always looking for opportunities to open more stores and create more jobs across the North East in 2010.”
Phil Dean, partner at Mincoffs Solicitors, said: “Due to the effective delivery of their portfolio and commercial legal advice, we are delighted to be able to assist in managing their portfolio further especially in the current economic climate when other book stores are going into administration.
“We are excited to be working with them on further expansion plans in 2010. It’s great to see so many more of The Works’ stores open up across the region and this is one story that really has a happy ending!”
