Thursday Next author in region next Thursday
Newcastle City Library plays host to a best-selling comic author next Thursday, as Jasper Fforde becomes the latest writer to appear at Newcastle Libraries’ free Meet the Author events.
The author of the popular Thursday Next novels will discuss his ninth novel “Shades of Grey”, which he describes as being set in “a colour-obsessed post-apocalyptic landscape - don’t worry, it’s not that serious”.
Sheila Naughton from Newcastle Libraries said: “Jasper is one of the UK’s most popular and wittiest writers and this is sure to be a very lively and entertaining evening.
“He also received 76 rejection letters before his first book was published, so he’s sure to have plenty of advice for budding writers.”
The event has been organised by Newcastle Libraries Reader Development team as part of their series of Meet the Author events which see authors appearing in the city at free events every month.
Free tickets are available from any Newcastle library, or email from information@newcastle.gov.uk or on 0191 277 4100.
