First timers fly back to the nest
A young entrepreneur from the region has taken the bull by the horns and launched a brand new way for first time buyers to take their first steps onto the property ladder.
The Principle Property Group (PPG) has taken advantage of a turbulent market and launched Nest Invest, a new buying plan to offer private buyers the chance to secure their first home.
The new venture is being fronted by 23-year-old property expert, Amy Fettis, who set the company up three years ago with the sole intention of securing homes for the younger end of the market.
Ms. Fettis said: “Recent reports have shown a surge in demand for rental properties, as more and more people rule out the idea of owning their own home.
“In fact, there has never been a better time for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder. Building societies are lending again, with first time buyers requiring deposits of as little as 10% and house prices are still low.”
Nest Invest hopes to offer a way into the property market for people with low deposits, offering options for buying off-plan.
Ms. Fettis has said many people recognise that now is the time to buy while prices are low, but acknowledges some have trouble putting down a deposit.
Despite this, she added: “The recession has led to some great opportunities for those who want to make the most of it.
“Last week the government scrapped stamp duty on homes costing up to £250,000, which is yet another incentive for first time buyers.”
