Christmas comes early at St James’
THE festive season has already arrived at St James’ Park, with bookings for Christmas parties already at record levels.
Sodexo Prestige, which runs the catering and events operation at NUFC, has revealed that since unveiling its festive programme of events it has seen a massive demand for bookings.
And the company believe that is partly due to people wanting to make up for last year’s financial crisis, where many businesses and groups decided to cut back on any additional expenses.
“We’ve seen a fantastic amount of bookings already and certainly we’re way ahead of this time last year,” said Colin Perkins, catering service director at St James’ Park.
“I think there’s a number of reasons for that, including the fact that many companies last year didn’t have any staff events but hopefully we’ve turned a corner and people are now planning to make up for lost time this year.”
Mr Perkins also believes that keeping prices down has also attracted many people to St James’.
“We’ve started our packages from as little as £19.95 which I think is proving very attractive to a lot of groups and companies who are planning ahead,” he said.
This year’s Christmas and New Year programme including party nights and lunches, special OAP lunches and a lavish VIP ball.
