CA Group reports on tough year
COUNTY Durham roofing and cladding giant CA Group said its outlook for the year ahead, like the UK economy, remained uncertain after reporting a £1.49m loss in its latest annual figures.
In the year to 30 September 2009, the West Auckland-based company made a £1.49m pretax loss, compared to a pre-tax profit of £2.79m the previous year.
The firm said the results posted on Companies House were disappointing for the directors as it blamed the downturn in the global and UK economies which significantly reduced activity levels in the construction industry.
Looking forward the company, which saw its turnover for the period plunge from £47.24m to £29.81m, said it continues to develop product range and strengthen its customer base.
“The market outlook for 2010 is uncertain, in line with the general UK economy,” the group said.
CA Group designs, manufactures, supplies and installs industrial roofing and cladding systems.
