Moviemakers move closer to the action
A NORTH East film company is targeting overseas opportunities and the growing market for recruitment videos after relocating to Gateshead.
YourFilm has moved from Jarrow to the Gateshead International Business Centre in a bid to be closer to key players in the North East’s business community and fellow creative firms.
It has just completed a contract with its first international client, Texas-based training provider 360training.com, and is currently in discussions with a Norwegian oil and gas services company as it looks to strengthen its international reach.
Since moving into its new home, YourFilm has already collaborated with one of its new neighbours, having started a joint project with animation outfit Kuru Dragon.
Kevin Owens, who runs the business with Matthew Norman, said: “It’s been a very positive period recently and the move really cements the feeling that we are moving in the right direction.
“We look to be on target to double our turnover in the next 12 months to well in excess of six figures.”
By the end of next year the company expects to be approaching £250,000 in annual turnover and in a position to begin taking on permanent crew members.
The group is also gearing up for growth on the back of the increasing demand for recruitment movies and films which help the likes of call centre operators, improve their staff retention rate.
Delcor Furniture makers, Newcastle University and the Entrepreneurs Forum are among YourFilm’s current clients.
