Kitchen firm serves up ambitious plans
A KITCHEN supplier is to open a new retail store in Yorkshire and expand its presence nationally after an employee invested his own cash in the firm.
The Kitchen Centre, which has outlets in Team Valley, Kingston Park and Morpeth, will look to add a new branch next year while it has invested in a new website to target national trade customers.
The expansion plans come after Sean Evennett – an employee of five years at the firm – invested cash in a share of the company and assumed the position of managing director.
Company owner Mark Gray offered Mr Evennett the opportunity to become a joint director to help with the group’s expansion.
Meanwhile, the firm has opted to close its showrooms in North Shields and Hexham as it looks to build a larger regional and national customer base.
It is also diversifying into bedroom and bathroom products and has given each of its 10 members of staff a pay rise to reflect the extra responsibilities which come with the firm’s transformation.
“Our goal is to create a stable and stronger business by focusing on providing a better product offering,” said Mr Evennett.
