Sage makes changes at the top
NEWCASTLE accountancy giant Sage is to replace chief executive Paul Walker with the current head of the group’s mainland Europe and Asia operations.
Mr Walker will be replaced by Guy Berruyer in October and will bring an end to his 26-year career at the Kingston Park-headquartered company in December.
Chairman Anthony Hobson said: “During his thirteen year career with Sage, Guy has lead the successful growth of our business in Europe and, more recently, in Asia.
“He has a strong track record of profit growth, both organically and through the successful acquisition and integration of companies.”
Paul Walker, chief executive, said : “Guy has made an outstanding contribution to Sage and I am very pleased that the Board has chosen him to lead the Group and to build on our success.
“On a personal note, I am immensely proud of the achievements of Sage over the past years. I have had a fantastic time with the company and I would like to thank our customers, our partners, my colleagues and our people for their support over the past 26 years.”
