The road to expansion
A MOTOR retailer has announced plans to open a third car supermarket in the region, creating a dozen jobs in the process.
North East firm Henson Motor Group is looking to expand its reach into County Durham and Teesside by opening a new site to compliment its current Benton and Killingworth ones.
The news follows an announcement in March this year that the group had recorded their best quarter sales figures from November to January since the company started trading in 1996.
Sales were up 24% on the same three month period in 2009 / 2010 with repeat customers and recommendations forming 42% of all business.
Meanwhile the company has been chosen as a finalist in the Motor Trader Industry Awards 2010 in the Independent Used Car Retailer of the Year Award category.
Of the six finalists Henson Motor Group is the only finalist in England north of Croydon. Henson Motor Group sales manager Ross Hall said: “We are all delighted to reach the finals having beaten off competition from the top independent dealers throughout the UK.”
