BA joins NCL celebrations
BRITISH Airways is helping travelers celebrate the 75th anniversary of Newcastle International Airport with a £1 round-trip fare, plus taxes, fees and charges, on its flights between Newcastle and London Heathrow.
Along with taxes/fees and charges, the £1 fare - which is subject to availability – means that passengers will ultimately pay £75 for the round trip, according to BA.
The special promotional return fare, which is now being made available from both Newcastle and Heathrow, remains on sale until August 1 in order to coincide with an open day at Newcastle International Airport to commemorate the event.
Customers wanting to take advantage of the special fare will be able to travel between November 1 and November 30, 2010.
The celebrations will also provide a unique opportunity for one of British Airways long-haul captains to fly into his home-town airport.
Captain Stephen Wright, who normally flies passengers between Heathrow and worldwide destinations such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Los Angeles, will take the controls of one of the airline’s 57 Boeing 747-400 aircraft for the short flight between Heathrow and Newcastle on Monday morning.
