Investment brings 20 new jobs to Darlington
A £250,000 REDEVELOPMENT of a Darlington venue is expected to bring twenty new jobs to the region.
Barbara Vowles, a North East pub trade veteran and former commercial director at Darlington FC, has launched a new late night lounge and Irish Bar on Duke Street.
The site was previously home to Chambers Nightclub, which was managed by Ms Vowles before she took ownership of the venue in June.
Ms Vowles said: “I wanted to give Darlington something different by opening a new bar and a venue which offers a greater variety of entertainment for local people as well as a classy safe environment to relax and unwind with friends and colleagues.
“We are already looking to buy venues in a number of towns to expand Paddy O’Shea’s and we hope to do the same in the future with Club B’s.”
Ms Vowles is now hoping to roll out the Paddy O’Shea’s brand across the country with properties in Washington, Teesside, Sedgefield, Hull, Brighton and Blackpool currently being considered.
Ms Vowles has formerly managed three Darlington-based venues being Perry`s Club 2k, Berlins and Bacchaus and has worked in the pub trade for 30 years. She also served as commercial manager for Darlington Football Club in 2004.
