Mayberry Consultancy aims to save region from HR pitfalls
A MAJOR series of events is to be launched across the region to help businesses survive the ongoing sweeping changes made to employment law.
According to Stockton-on-Tees firm Mayberry Consultancy, most businesses with one to 60 employees do not recruit qualified HR managers to their teams, meaning they are vulnerable to falling foul of legislation changes.
Fortunately the company is planning a series of HR seminars which will help SMEs avoid the pitfalls of employment issues and keep them one step ahead of the introduction of new laws.
Mayberry Consultancy will explain how the new Equalities Act, which will come into play next month will impact and affect businesses, allowing them to make necessary changes to the way they operate.
Managing director David Dorman-Smith said: “Many SMEs employing less than 60 people are unlikely to have an HR manager working for them.
“The work of HR will tend to be given to an existing manager as an additional responsibility. While everything is running smoothly the business is likely to cope but as soon as something goes wrong, or legislation changes, many businesses will not know what to do.
“The seminars are designed to provide help and support to these businesses.”
Each seminar will include a round-up of recent changes to employment legislation as well as forthcoming changes and suggestions on how to address those changes.
The seminars run from the end of September to the end of October across Northallerton, Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Stokesley and Colburn.
