Petards makes major appointment
AIM-listed CCTV firm Petards has announced the appointment of an industry heavyweight with international expertise to its board.
The Gateshead company has appointed Osman Abdullah as a non-executive director to the board with effect from 30 September 2010.
Mr Abdullah is a representative of Water Hall Group plc which owns 29.99 per cent. of the Company’s issued ordinary share capital. He does not beneficially own any ordinary shares in Petards.
Commenting on Mr Abdullah’s appointment, Petards chairman Tim Wightman said “Since Water Hall Group plc significantly increased its investment in Petards in June 2010 we have been exploring with them how they might best assist us in achieving our strategy.
“I am therefore pleased to welcome Osman to the Petards’ Board and look forward to working with him in developing the Group’s potential. Osman has considerable commercial experience across a wide range of industrial and supply chain management businesses as well as extensive contacts in the Middle East in particular in Saudi Arabia.”
