IDS sees orders soar in half-year
DRUGS testing company IDS has enjoyed a 34% surge in business having almost doubled the number of specialist machines it has in the market in the last six months.
The South Tyneside firm, which produces diagnostic testing kits for clinical and research companies, saw its turnover rise to £22.6m in the six months to 30 September 2010, compared to £16.9m in the same period last year.
The Company said it has made continued progress in placing instruments into reagent rental accounts as well as outright unit sales.
“Overall trading remains in line with management expectations and the Board remains confident going forward that it can continue to execute its plans for the current year,” the firm said in a trading update this morning.
