bgroup enters liquidation
DIGITAL and creative agency The bgroup has fallen into liquidation after seeing its pipeline of client work diminish as tough trading conditions continue.
The Newcastle-based company, from which bdaily was spun out two years ago, has called in administrators from Begbies Traynor.
At its peak bgroup employed 22 people with an impressive portfolio of national clients, however, amid dwindling funding in its niche area of enterprise and entrepreneurship, 2010 has seen it struggle to meet the large overheads associated with agency work.
bdaily was spun out of the bgroup in 2008 and will now operate from an office on the Cobalt Business Exchange, rather than bgroup’s former headquarters near Newcastle’s Quayside.
Company founder Si Bales, who also runs bdaily, said: “We explored every avenue we could to save the business before taking the incredibly difficult decision to call in the insolvency practitioners.
“I am extremely proud of the level of work our dedicated team has produced over the last decade and saddened by the unfortunate action I have had to take today.”
Creditors with concerns related to the closure of bgroup should contact Begbies Traynor on 0191 269 9820.
