Survey reveals wastage
FLEET drivers across the UK are being sent on money-wasting, fuel-squandering journeys because of inadequate telematics equipment.
A survey by Trimble MRM found 60 percent of fleet managers believe the best single way to reduce cost and under-performance is to reduce the number of unnecessary miles being driven.
“By accurately locating drivers and vehicles, fleet managers can optimise who handles each job,” says Andrew Yeoman, Managing Director of Trimble MRM Europe.
“This may sound like an obvious use of technology but our survey revealed that many managers think the equipment they are using is not fit for purpose.
“Companies should be taking every step necessary to ensure economic stability and fleet managers have a great opportunity to make the most of the latest telematics equipment available to allow them to do this.”
