New funding fuels expansion at manufacturer
FAST-GROWING Osborne Engineering Limited (OEL) is celebrating the creation of 45 new jobs as it continues to experience increasing global customer demand for its components.
The company, which currently employs more than 125 staff, is creating up to 45 new jobs manufacturing bespoke bearings and gas turbine components for clients in the oil and gas, wind power and power generation industries.
The expansion project was supported by a £350,000 Grant for Business Investment (GBI) from One North East, which is also assisting in the creation of the new roles including CNC machinists, design engineers and inspection and support staff.
OEL Group Managing Director Shukri Benfaied said: “This expansion allows us to continue our successful growth utilizing the skills and experience available in the North East to produce high quality gas turbine products for a global customer base. We are grateful for the continued support of One North East for this project and indeed over the past few years.”
One North East Chairman, Paul Callaghan, said: “I am delighted to see such an innovative business going from strength to strength, investing in the North East, creating new job opportunities and cementing its place in the local economy.”
