World’s engineers come to Teesside

SOME of the world’s most eminent engineers and safety specialists will arrive on Teesside this month to take part in the fifth annual TAS Electrical Engineers Forum (EEF).

Taking place at Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium on Wednesday, the EEF is a key networking event for Electrical Engineers in the Tees Valley and beyond provides a forum to discuss key issues affecting their profession across a range of industries.

“TAS is proud to facilitate the Electrical Engineers Forum which is intended to provide a networking opportunity for electrical engineers who increasingly operate in isolation,” said John Maplesden, deputy Chairman.

Organised by Stockton-based TAS Engineering Consultants, the event will be headlined by American electrical power expert, Jim Philips.

Mr Philips has established a reputation as one of the best trainers and public speakers in the electrical power industry. He has, for the past 30 years; helped tens of thousands of people around the world understand electrical power system design, safety, theory and applications.

Also speaking at the EEF will be Ian Burley, the Health and Safety Executive’s Principal Specialist Engineer who will discuss the dangers and hazards of sub-standard cabling in industry.

John Maplesden, deputy Chairman of TAS Engineering Consultants, added: “The TAS Electrical Engineers’ Forum has become a key date in the calendar for specialists in the sector.

“The industries electrical engineers operate in are continually evolving and this forum is the perfect platform to share best practise and discuss transferable procedures.”
