Plumbers plug the Yorkshire market
A NORTH East independent plumbers’ merchant has expanded out of the region for the first time creating 5 new jobs.
Taps plumbers merchants - which has branches in Sunderland, Newcastle, Gateshead, Durham, South Shields – has now launched in York.
The Company has opened at the city’s Yorvale Business Park taking over a warehouse, trade counter and bathroom showroom - which will serve both the trade and the public.
Managing Director Anne Ganley, said: “It has always been a great ambition of mine to expand into Yorkshire.
“To finally be able to open our first Yorkshire branch in York is a great honour and I am extremely proud that Taps can now be associated with York’s rich history.”
Taps is a sister company of Thompson Building Centres which was founded in 1955 and has won numerous awards in both the North East and from its own industry.
This new opening will take the total l number of branches to eight since it started in 2003.
Dave Harding, Sales Director of Taps said the company was “extremely happy” to have moved into Yorkshire.
He added: “York is a fantastic city and we firmly believe that Taps will be able to offer first class products and service to both trade customers and the general public.”
