Noel Gallagher ‘approached to appear on American X Factor’
Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher is reported to have been approached to star as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.
The guitarist has been asked to consider working on the show when Simon Cowell takes it across the Atlantic next year, according to The Sun.
In the past he has been critical of the show, saying in a 2008 interview that The X Factor had ’‘nothing to do with music’’.
If he agreed to take part it could mean even more headaches for American audiences, who may struggle with regional accents from the UK. Geordie Cheryl Cole is said to be taking a role on the show when it launches in 2011.
Gallagher walked out of Oasis last year, with the rest of the group ploughing on under the name Beady Eye. The band is due to make its live debut in March of next year.
Gallagher has been dismissive of the effect of The X Factor in the past.
