AIS continues to expand

A manufacturing and training company is strengthening its team to cope with the increase in demand from the booming oil and gas sector.

Advanced Industrial Solutions (AIS), which is based on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields, provides specialist training for the oil and gas industry including rope access, rigging, insulation and health and safety courses.

Strong growth in oil and gas has resulted in increased orders for AIS products and services and the company has created four new posts to handle the additional workload.

Managing director of AIS, Paul Stonebanks, said: “We are committed to our base in North Shields and creating new local jobs is a key part of our growth strategy.

“2010 was a fantastic year for us - with several new major contract wins and increasing demand for our services - so we’re delighted to be able to create four new posts to service this workload.”

The company also manufactures bespoke insulation products for the offshore and industrial sectors and installs them on site.
