Peter Arnold to leave Newcastle Science City in May

Newcastle Science City’s chief executive Peter Arnold has announced that he is set to leave his role at the end of May.

Having been with the organisation since 2007 Mr Arnold said that he is leaving in order to explore and develop some new ideas he has around the science sector.

Peter Arnold, said “My role has been to lead the organisation through the first three years of development towards a sustainable future.

“ I am very proud of our many achievements and leave NSC in a strong position to adapt within a more challenging funding environment.

“ I feel the time is right for me to move on and explore some really interesting new ideas I have for ventures within the science sector.“

The organisation has said that Interim management arrangements are being developed and will be in place following the chief executive’s departure.

Paul Walker, Chair of Newcastle Science City, paid homage to Mr Arnold’s efforts.

He said: “I would like to thank Peter Arnold for his significant contribution to Newcastle Science City over the past three years. He has led pioneering initiatives, such as the Newcastle Innovation Machine, to help entrepreneurs develop new science-based businesses.”

NSC was established by a partnership of Newcastle University, One North East and Newcastle City Council.
