Tyneside firm cleans up by heading for home
A COMMERCIAL window cleaning firm has set out plans for rapid expansion after winning over 120 clients in a week for its new residential services.
Newcastle-based Vision Facility Services (VFS), which also offers landscaping and property support services, has contracts to work on some of the region’s largest and most iconic office and industrial buildings.
However, after being inundated with requests from friends and family, the directors of the four-year-old company opted to launch a service to clean the exteriors of houses and residential developments – a decision which has led to a sharp upsurge in business.
In the first week since its launch, the group has won contracts on 121 properties across the North East, with this figure likely to double in the next month.
The new residential service is aiming to meet the increasing demand among homeowners and tenants for the same quality, speed and efficiency of cleaning on properties as is available for commercial clients.
VFS took on four new members of staff ahead of anticipated strong growth this year and has also invested in new state-of-the-art water-fed poles and vehicle tracking technology to ensure its operations run as efficiently as possible.
Company founder Paul Cookney said: “In terms of the commercial side of the business, the next five years should see us tender for more and more blue-chip and public sector contracts and increase our turnover drastically. We will also look to expand our presence beyond the North East to Yorkshire and Scotland.”
