Major appointments at development body
The Newcastle and Gateshead development company 1NG has welcomed two new appointments to its board of directors.
Regional businessman Graham Wylie and Cllr Nick Forbes will bring their own areas of expertise to the project.
Graham Wylie who is one of the original founders of Sage plc and chairman of Technology Services Group, said:
“1NG brings a unique mix of private-sector experience and public sector awareness and acumen; and this combination makes them an extremely important vehicle for driving forward economic transformation across NewcastleGateshead.”
1NG is already involved on several significant projects within the city, specifically in the Ouseburn, East Quayside and with the Science Central project. The economic regeneration involved in this activities is considred to be pivotal to be growth in the science, creative and digital sectors in the region.
Lord Charles Falconer, chair of 1NG said: “There is much more work to be done over the long-term future and with these two key leaders supporting the future economic vision of NewcastleGateshead, we are confident of getting there.”
